1) Screening NCEs for safety pharmacology assessment with specific emphasis on cardiovascular, CNS and pulmonary studies. Design, planning and execution of in vitro, ex vivo (organ bath/Langendorff) and in vivo safety pharmacology experiments.
2) Hands-on expertise in cell culture; routine biochemical experiments; dosing, sampling and surgical procedures in rodents.
3) Expertise to develop Functional Observational Batteries (FOB) for safety assessment in rodents.
4) Well versed in Langendorff, Organ bath, ECG, BP/Heart rate, Respiration rate monitoring, Telemetry and MPVS/Power lab (ADI) instruments. Knowledge of Xenopus oocyte system and zebrafish models would be advantageous.
5) Well trained in BSL-2 (Bio safety level-2) norms and GLP (Good laboratory Practices) to prepare for various SOPs related to Safety pharmacology.
